amazing, stagecoach replace all their decent coaches for these horrible things because they are wheelchair friendly. let me guess what's happened or is about to happen in this pic. The driver will help the passenger, who's wheelchair is next to the bus, onto the bus then he will put the wheelchair in the lockers until the passenger wants to get off, highlighting the fact that the drivers havent been trained to use these wheelchair lifts or proving a point that they did not need to replace the proper coaches used on this route because nothing has changed, wheelchair's are still being put in the side lockers. No reflection on your work here, Andrew, very good photos and a very good site, well done!

I wonder why Stagecoach don't put deflectors on their double deck buses.There's bound to be a reason,but to me it would save having to repair the front part of the upper deck.

AHZ7344 must belong to forres Taxis and Minicoaches - their depot is over the railway crossing in Forres, once you cross the track keep to the left heading for the industrial estate. I knew they had acquired a Plaxton but did not know its identity. Good job it was a dry day - unless you have tweaked the photo the coach does not have wipers.

Hi Andrew, Scott Smith (son of Galashiels driver, Andy Smith)told me my happy face featured in your album. I would be taking this one only as far as Hawick where I would be handing it over to another Hawick driver. If it was the 1025 then I would have been on the go since 0330. If it was the 1125 then I would have been a bit fresher, but still the glum face. A far cry from my crew days with Glasgow Corporation the early 1970s. I loved the buses then, but am a bit scunnered these days. 65696 is not my favourite bus. Regards, John Walker

This along with 54037 are now both Inverness based vehicles, transferred a few months ago to allow two short B12B's to move north from Inverness to Thurso (cant remember which of top of my head). There was no replacement at Glasgow for 54034/7.

Its interesting to see the different ways in which the scottish fleets are applying these logos to the rear of coaches. Western have all three vinyls fixed along the bottom rear of the coaches while im assuming this is a shot of a Bluebird example. Strathay appear to be the same as Bluebird meanwhile the Fife examples ive seen only carry the 70 logo up the top left i think of their Profiles etc.

Hi Andy, 54047 is a Stagey Glasgow vehicle although new to Strathay. It was acquired by Glasgow at the start of the year when the mass movement of 15m Panthers ocurred throughout Scotland. Ironically perhaps that Inverness's (ex Glasgow) 54037 (SF07 LCG) was down in Glasgow on an M10 departing BBS around 6PM for the journey north. Picture might make it online at some point.
